Program Summary
Our REFLEX BACK cross-reinforced polypropylene substrate is extremely resilient. Compared to molded plastic and other similarly designed barrier wall delineators, the REFLEX BACK Dual Flex Barrier Wall Reflector can flex and withstand impacts without breaking. The material was developed for use in returnable packaging but has been found to work extremely well for reflector and traffic sign backer substrate.

Why is it innovative?
Current barrier wall delineators on the market often do not survive the first winter snow removal operation. REFLEX BACK Dual Flex Barrier Wall Reflectors are designed to withstand impacts related to winter snow removal operations and remain functionally in place for years so that they will be there when they are needed.
What would a field demonstration entail?
A project site (bridge with concrete barrier wall) must be identified and approved for installation. A contractor or DOT personnel would install delineators as recommended. An Independent engineering consultant will collect the following data and compile a report following winter snow removal seasons for 5 years (April – May of the following year).

• Lightweight – Improved adhesion for vertical installations
• Black substrate color – Carbon additive enhances UV resistance
• Die-Cut and Heat Bent
• Heat bend creates integral hinge in the primary direction
• Score line creates integral hinge in the reverse direction
• Retroreflective Film – ASTM D 4956 Type III / IV or Type IX / XI
• Reflective area of nearly 12 square inches
